The Cortland Board of Realtors celebrated the holidays with their annual Holiday Luncheon hosted by Cortland Loaves & Fishes.  Director Kim Hill prepared a turkey, ham, and roast pork dinner with all the fixings as well as some delectable desserts to satisfy the group.  As an annual project, the realtors donated and wrapped gifts to be distributed during Loaves & Fishes Christmas dinner, as well as a monetary gift donation to the agency.  Santa even came with a special 12 Days of  Christmas song for the group.  Thank you Cortland Board of Realtors.

Christmas Celebration Dinner

2023-12-16T21:39:28+00:00

Loaves & Fishes staff and volunteers celebrated with almost 150 guests for their annual Christmas dinner Friday December 15th.  Director Kim Hill outdid herself this year preparing a feast of roast turnkey and ham, with all the traditional trimmings, and yummy desserts. Volunteers from the community served guests throughout the early evening, with Santa arriving and presenting gifts to children.  A very happy and joyous atmosphere, with smiles not only from guests, but the volunteers who donate their time to make life a little better for those in need of a holiday celebration. The Cortland Breakfast Rotary Club prepared food baskets for about 40 families totaling 100 adults and kids, while Family Health Network collected 90 stockings stuffed with gifts that were distributed to families. SUNY Cortland Ceramics Class Donate Bowls

2023-12-01T17:35:45+00:00

Thank you to the entire SUNY Cortland ceramics class pictured here!  Their involvement in our Empty Bowls fundraiser is crucial to the success of the event.  This year students made and donated over 120 bowls, most all of which sold at the silent auction and exhibit table.  Thank you Hannah Carver, instructor, 4th from right, for your direction to students to produce such creative pieces.  Brookley Abbate, far left, a SUNY Cortland alumni from this program and art teacher at the Homer Jr High school, initiated this relationship with the college and has kept it moving forward for  15 years.  Thanks to all who helped make our Empty Bowls event this year a success.
